Next the system voltage. Count the batteries. Check the voltage on each. Six 6-volt batteries usually mean 36V while six 8-volt or four 12-volt batteries usually mean 48V. However setups vary, so check yours of guessing.

Lithium vs Lead Acid: Which Fits Your Situation
Lithium has become an upgrade choice. However it is not always the answer for every owner.
Lithium makes sense when weight is important for how the cart handles and carries things. It also makes sense if you want to stop watering batteries on a schedule or if you need voltage during use instead of the drop that lead acid shows as it runs down. Lithium is best when you plan to keep the cart enough for the lower maintenance and longer life to make up for the higher cost.
Lead acid is still good when the initial cost is the concern. It works well if you want to keep your existing charger or if you may sell the cart before the lithium payback period.
One thing to plan for either way: switching to lithium usually needs a charger. Check the specs on the battery you are thinking about then look at charger options

Your charger has to match both the voltage and the chemistry of your pack. A lead acid charger and a lithium charger operate differently so they are usually not the same.
